Meredith DeVries, Intern
I know that seeking help can be a vulnerable and uncomfortable process. That’s why I create a safe, non-judgmental, and genuine environment. I believe therapy is a collaborative process in which I can help you to identify your goals and create balance in your life. Therapy is a tool that can facilitate self-exploration of thoughts, feelings, and emotions to create positive change and coping in one’s life. I believe it can also be a space to connect with one’s mind, body, and spirit.
Everyone has a unique life story, and that’s why I take a holistic and multicultural approach to understand what is important to each person I work with. I value taking an integrative approach with a variety of interventions that will best serve your goals and needs. I find importance in utilizing strengths-based and mindfulness-based elements. I also believe in the importance of feeling heard, understood, supported, and empowered.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Neuroscience. Currently, I am receiving my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University and plan to pursue LCPC licensure. When I am not in the office, I enjoy running, doing yoga, spending time with friends and family, trying new foods, doing puzzles, and continuing to learn about how I can be an advocate for social justice.
