Hillary Dvorak, LCSW
As a licensed clinical social worker, I am a firm believer that people are extremely resilient and it is a strength to ask for help. In therapy, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where we can work together to face any and all barriers you are dealing with. As a team, we will create a treatment plan centered around your personal mental health goals.
I received my Master’s in Social Work from Jane Addams College of Social Work here in Chicago and my Bachelors in Dance and Psychology from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. My clinical background has been in the realm of child welfare where I have worked with individuals, families and children who have overcome severe trauma. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also offer faith-based therapy if requested. Because every individual is unique, each treatment plan and therapy modality will be tailored to your specific wants and needs.
I treat individuals, couples and families. If you are a family dealing with attachment or parenting issues, I would love to work with you and your child to create or re-establish a positive bond. Couples who are dealing with communication or conflict challenges can greatly benefit from therapeutic intervention. Or if you are an individual with any assortment of personal struggles such as anxiety, depression, work challenges, grief and loss or trauma, I welcome you to come share your story.
My time outside the office is spent with family, friends, and my rescue dog, Mo. I believe pets can be immensely therapeutic and Mo is a great source of joy for me even on the hardest of days.
